Health and Wellness PDF Print

A grant project was obtained through the Kansas Health Foundation to support and develop a multi-strategy wellness program to help meet the needs of older adults, 60 and over, in a rural setting with an intergenerational component using elementary through college age students on the projects. Some activities will include physical, social, intellectual and service related strategies between the older adults and the young people. The strategies chosen for this grant project will help improve cognitive function, balance, strength and flexibility. The target communities include Anderson, Coffey, Franklin, Linn, Miami and Osage counties.

A schedule of activities and events will be posted on the website and at East Central Kansas Area Agency on Aging office as they develop. Contact Deb Henningsen at (785) 242-7200, (800) 633-5621 or health@eckaaa.org for more information.
