Nutrition is an important component for good health. For older adults, the impact of not having a nutritious meal on a daily basis can actually lead to other health problems. That is why the Mid America Nutrition Program is so important for residents in our six counties. Not only do they provide a daily meal, determined by a licensed Dietician, but they also provide an opportunity for social interaction.

Anyone who is eligible for a Home Delivered Meal (most often recognized as Meals on Wheels) will have a meal provided to them from one of the local nutrition sites. If someone is able to go to the nutrition site, they will have the benefit of the meal as well as conversation or other activities. Some sites are known for having serious card players or bingo games for entertainment. This interaction is important to folks who do not have family living close to them or who are not involved in other community groups.

To attend a community mealsite, please contact the number listed for the site you are interested in attending to reserve a meal. Meals are provided for a donation, but you will not be denied a meal (either at the site or Home Delivered) if you are unable to contribute.
